Dear friends,

My hat is in the ring and I am running hard.  At this time of my life, it is obvious that I am not working to become a professional politician.  I am running because I passionately believe our County needs a new direction, and new leadership that is working to bring us together to address the challenges created by growth, instead of dividing us for political gain. 
 
Wake County’s quality of life and economic future are at risk.  How we manage and pay for growth, whether we are going to have schools that prepare our children to compete in a global economy, and are we going to be proper stewards of our environment are at stake in this election.    
 
Although I know the issues, campaigning across 864 sq. miles, with 400,000 folks voting in November is an enormous undertaking.  It is made even more challenging because media attention focuses more on national and state contests.  That said, I am learning a lot about running for office, and have already received my first endorsement from the AFL-CIO.  I am very grateful for their support.
 
This election is about our future, and taking Wake County government back from special interests.  You are getting my personal best, but I need your help.  Your financial support and time will be critical to our success.
